Institutional
managers
PIMCO and Loomis Sayles lead in garnering brand loyalty from their
current clients, according to a new report from Cogent Research. The
two topped 23 institutional managers measured on brand loyalty in Cogent’s
inaugural study, Institutional Investor Brandscape. Across
10 aspects of client experience, PIMCO and Loomis wrestle for top billing on
most attributes, including those critical to garnering loyalty: investment
performance, investment philosophy and investment team. Vanguard
outperforms all other managers on fees, while State Street Global Advisors
takes the lead in relationship management. Vanguard
placed third overall and appears to be rapidly building its reputation among
institutional clients, according to Cogent. Rounding
out the top 10 are: Dodge & Cox, State Street Global Advisors, Wellington
Management Company, T. Rowe Price, Morgan Stanley Investment Management, Lord
Abbett and Western Asset Management Company. The
survey queried 590 institutional investors with more than $20 million in
investable assets each.
