ING Investment Management Australia has bolstered its wholesale unit with the appointment of Mark Harper as senior business development manager for the southern region.
This is the fourth hire since INGIM opened its Melbourne office this year.
Harper joins the company from AXA Australia, where he was national sales manager of group life insurance. Prior to that, he worked at NAB as senior project analyst and team leader, specialising in project management and transformation projects. In his new role he reports to Stuart Devlin, the southern region manager who was hired in August this year.
"This segment of the market is a key area of focus for INGIM's strategy here in Australia. New offerings are also in the pipeline for 2011 allowing INGIM to continue delivering alpha-generating solutions in the competitive advisor industry," Jim McKay, head of sales, said in a statement.
INGIM is the specialist global investment arm of ING Group and has over A$530 billion ($538 billion) in assets under management. In Australia, the company manages more than A$30 billion in client assets.
