SEI Expands Distribution To UK IFA Market

SEI has expanded the distribution of its investment services
to the UK IFA marketplace by adding a range of portfolios to the independent
whole-of-market wrap platform Ascentric. The portfolios SEI is adding combine modern portfolio
construction theory and behavioral finance, and are designed to provide
scalable investment propositions for the independent advice market, according
to the firm. “Advisors increasingly recognize the value of outsourcing
asset allocation, portfolio construction, and administration so that they can concentrate
on advising existing clients, acquiring new clients, and growing their
businesses. By using an outsourced investment solution, they can manage the
risk, reduce the administrative burden, and focus on implementing a reliable
and consistent client process,” said Mark Rockliffe, director of asset
management UK for SEI Global Wealth Services. A number of firms have been adding to the services they
provide to the UK IFA market, in the expectation that the UK regulator’s RDR
package of reforms, due to come into force end-2012, will increase demand. Russell Investments recently announced it is looking to
expand its coverage of this market.
