Defeated Auckland super city mayoral candidate John Banks is the new executive chairman at Huljich Wealth Management.
Banks takes over from ex-Reserve Bank governor and National Party leader Dr Don Brash, who is leaving the board and the company to return to his duties as board member at ANZ National Bank. Huljich is expected to soon announce a new director to replace Dr Brash on the Huljich board.
"Huljich Wealth Management now manages one of the largest KiwiSaver schemes in the country, with more than 90,000 members. We're also expanding our operations in managed funds and into insurance, and both of these new areas of business offer exciting possibilities," Banks said in a statement.
Also recently appointed to the Huljich team is Mark Ford, who joined as chief investment officer. Ford, who has been with Huljich since August this year, was previously the head of institutional and wholesale funds management at ING (NZ) and had also served at Macquarie Bank. He most recently worked in the private bank and wealth businesses of BNZ.
