Bank Hapoalim International, part of Israel’s Bank Hapoalim, has appointed Paul Mann to succeed Tal Steiner-Omer as head of its UK private banking business. Mann previously led UBS Wealth Management’s London-based Israel team and before this was with Credit Suisse, latterly as managing director, head of global strategic relationships for its asset management business. Along with a four-year tenure within Credit Suisse’s investment banking arm, Mann also spent two years running global product management at the private bank. Bank Hapoalim first established a UK presence in 1972, initially focusing on corporate banking. It is now focusing its growth in the UK on three main areas - private banking, corporate banking and currency dealing – and the firm has said it believes that now is an opportune time for it to further broaden its UK footprint. In his new role Mann reports to Avi Levi, general manager for Bank Hapoalim International in the UK, and forms part of a 70-strong workforce in the UK. “His considerable experience of this market combined with a thorough understanding of investment solutions and services make him the ideal leader for our private bank unit in the UK,” Levi said in a statement.
