Lockton, the US financial services firm, has appointed Shelly Horwitz as a new account executive within its retirement and financial services subsidiaries Lockton Investment Advisors and Lockton Financial Advisors.

Horwitz will be primarily responsible for the Washington DC office's clients, including private and public companies and non-profit organizations. She will be designing benefits plans, reviewing and analyzing investments, and performing due diligence with plan sponsors, committees and boards of directors.

"We began building a consulting practice in our DC office to meet the fiduciary needs of our plan sponsor clients and the wealth accumulation needs of their valued employees," Tom Clark, vice president of Lockton's Washington DC office, said in a statement.

Horwitz joins the company from Principal Financial Group, where she was a client relationship manager responsible for over $700 million in assets. Lockton's Washington DC branch manages approximately $3 billion in qualified plan assets for 60 clients.
