Barclays Wealth, the UK-based global wealth manager, is expanding its investment advisory team with the appointment of six new investment advisors to support its UK and Ireland and International EMEA private bankers, the firm said in a statement.

“Since I joined the investment advisory team has doubled in size,” said Oliver Gregson, head of investment advisory, UK.

“This is indicative of our commitment to become a premier advice-led organisation where the investment advisors, in supporting their bankers and clients, are at the forefront of delivering an industry leading investment service.”

The new appointments include George King and Irina Marty, who both join as directors. King has previously spent ten years at AllianceBernstein in the US in a position similar to his new one; he was subsequently based in London helping with establishing the firm's private client business. Marty joins from Fortis Bank, where she led the sales team for the UK corporate desk on interest rates, FX and derivatives. Prior to this, she was with Lloyds TSB.

Su Vohrah, Phil Attreed, and Amin Hashemi all join as vice presidents. Vohrah joins from UBS, having previously been with Citi Private Bank. Attreed and Hashemi have previously held other positions at Barclays Wealth and have moved internally to join the team.

Ben Meyer joins from Rothschild Bank, were he worked as an equity research analyst for the private bank.
