8 December 2005
Credit Suisse is planning to open an office in Indonesia, Southeast Asia's most populous nation and biggest economy, to target high net worth individuals. The new office will be an addition to the bank’s existing investment banking operations in Indonesia. Joachim Straehle, head of Credit Suisse’s international private banking operations, told Dow Jones that Indonesia’s fast-growing group of wealthy individuals and families could turn the country into Southeast Asia's most lucrative private banking market. He would not say when the new office will be opened.
