AMP Capital Investors has appointed Boe Pahari as head of infrastructure for the Asia Pacific from 22 March 2010.

The newly-created role complements the company's drive to strengthen its global infrastructure team and further cements its Asian strategy, AMP said in a statement.

Mr Pahari, who is based in London, has over 20 years experience in the financial services industry. His most recent position was as head of Foreshore Global Capital. Prior that, he has led principal and advisory teams in Asia, Europe and North America, having been involved with the likes of ABN AMRO and Citigroup.

In his new role, he will lead a team of investment professionals in Beijing, Mumbai, Singapore and Sydney with a brief to further expand investment activities in Australia and the Asia Pacific.

AMP Capital has been building its Asian infrastructure network since 1994 and manages about $97 billion in funds, with around $4.4 billion invested in Australia, Asia, Europe and New Zealand at 31 December 2009.
