The Private Office, a Leeds-based high net worth boutique, has appointed two new partners.

These appointments follow the firm’s first anniversary. The wealth manager was founded in November 2008 by its seven partners and AWD Chase De Vere, the UK-based independent financial advisory and wealth management firm.

Joe O’Shea joins The Private Office as a partner and chartered financial planner. He was previously with AWD Chase de Vere, which he joined in 2002 as an advisor.

The other new partner, Alistair Callander, will focus on providing long term family wealth planning solutions. He has a detailed knowledge of trust, inheritance tax and long-term care planning areas, the firm said.

Mr Callander qualified as a chartered accountant with Deloitte, before joining Credit Suisse as investment banker.

“We believe the business will continue to grow at a significant rate in 2010 and have plans to recruit further during the course of the year,” said Robert Morse, managing partner at The Private Office.

Besides the appointments of Mr Callander and Mr O’Shea, the firm also announced the appointment of a paraplanner and two additional support staff.

The firm, led and owned by the nine financial advisor partners, has approximately £650 million in assets under advice as of 31 December 2009, and has a headcount of 31.
