Wegelin & Co, the St Gallen-based private bank, has launched a fund which will take advantage of the bond market and aims to offer excess returns compared with the Swiss Bond Index. The Wegelin Fixed Income Active Bond CHF is aimed at private investors who wish to invest safely in Swiss bonds, the private bank said in a statement. The low interest rate levels of the Swiss bond market, and the possibility of an interest rate increase, will make the market interesting for those who wish to invest in passive assets, Wegelin says. The fund is registered for distribution in Switzerland.
