RBC Wealth Management, part of Royal Bank of Canada, has appointed Santiago Cedron and Patricio Demaria to its Geneva-based Latin America team, to focus on clients in Mexico and Argentina respectively. Mr Cedron was latterly an executive director at UBS, having previously worked at JP Morgan. Mr Demaria, meanwhile, joins from JP Morgan, where he was a senior investor. "Santiago and Patricio’s extensive experience in Mexico and Argentina, coupled with their strong contacts in the region, make them an exciting addition to RBC Wealth Management in Geneva,” said Thomas Roiz, head of Latin America for RBC Suisse. Mr Roiz was himself appointed in July to lead and expand the RBC Wealth Management’s Latin America team. RBC Wealth Management has been engaged in an aggressive recruitment drive over the past year and has hired six private bankers for its Geneva operation alone. The firm has hired 1,100 advisors globally year to date. “RBC Wealth Management is looking to grow its international presence across the globe, and we are actively looking to expand our Geneva operation. One of our key goals at RBC Wealth Management is to attract and retain the very best client facing professionals globally. We're taking advantage of dislocation in the marketplace to hire the best of the best," said Karen Simpson, vice president and general manager of RBC Suisse.
