Canuck credit unions boost private-client services

Envision Financial announces "comprehensive" WM partnership with BD Qtrade. Canadian credit union Envision Financial has selected Vancouver, British Columbia-based Qtrade Financial to provide "comprehensive" wealth management services to its members. Envision has already been using Qtrade's broker-dealer platform for the past eight years.
"We're pleased to expand our partnership with Qtrade and we're confident that their services will enable us to grow our wealth management business both today and in the future," says Envision's president and CEO Gord Huston. "As our partner since 2000, Qtrade has proven that they are dedicated to delivering outstanding technology, products, support and customer service to Envision and to our member-owners."

Qtrade's version of full-on wealth-management services includes brokerage, mutual-fund, insurance, portfolio-management, discretionary money-management services and proprietary asset management.
Langley, British Columbia-based Qtrade is also extending its wealth-management platform to Calgary, Alberta-based First Calgary Savings and Penticton, British Columbia-based Valley First, credit unions that, with Envision, provide depositary and other services one another's members.
Scott Gibner, CEO of the Qtrade, describes Envision as "one of Canada's largest credit unions" and says its "partnership with First Calgary Savings and Valley First Credit Union holds tremendous potential."
With 21 branches, 19 insurance offices and about $3.8 billion in assets under administration, Envision Financial is the third-largest credit union in British Columbia. -FWR
