Zions Bancorporation's wealth-management arm fills president's old position. Contango Capital Advisors has a new COO in Owen Brown. He replaces David Magee, who became president of the firm in June 2007.

Contango is a subsidiary of Salt Lake City-based Zions Bancorporation, a financial-service-firm holding company.

Brown also serves as Contango's CFO.

Broader marketplace

"Owen brings a combined expertise in operational and financial management to his new role at Contango, together with a significant breadth of experience across industries," says Contango's CEO George Feiger. "His skills are perfectly in sync with Contango's needs as we continue to bring our brand of wealth management to new clients and a broader marketplace."

Brown's was most recently CFO of Sports4Kids, a non-profit that promotes health and fitness for schoolchildren. He has also been CFO of Transfair USA -- a non-profit that audits transaction between U.S. companies that provide "fair-trade" products and their (mainly) offshore suppliers -- and acting COO of Lozoic, a software publisher.

Berkeley, Calif.-based Contango manages more than $1.2 billion, mainly for high-net-worth clients and other individual investors. -FWR
