Law firm hires to expand wealthy-client practice

Hunton & Williams recruits Michael Silva as a partner in its Miami office. Law firm Hunton & Williams has brought Michael Silva in as a partner in a bid to expand its private-client tax practice. Silva, an accountant as well as an lawyer, is based in the firm's Miami office.

"Michael is a talented attorney and brings with him a commitment to clients and to the community," says Marty Steinberg, managing partner Hunton & Williams' Miami office. "With his addition, we continue to build our tax, private wealth and international law practice."
Silva -- who comes to Hunton & Williams from his own practice -- focuses on international tax law with an emphasis on U.S. investment structures, cross-border tax issues for high-net-worth non-U.S. clients as well as tax-treaty planning, withholding obligations of U.S. real property investments and U.S. activities of non-U.S. banks.
Silva is an adjunct professor at the University of Miami's Law School.
