The new branch, located at 16 Vasilissis Sofias, 10674 Athens, will offer a range of investment and wealth management services, as well as access to the bank’s international capabilities through its head office in Luxembourg. The Greek branch, which is registered with the Bank of Greece, went operational yesterday, the firm said in a statement. It is headed by Lia Pittaouli, who reports to Jules Moor, CEO of Banque J Safra Sarasin (Luxembourg) SA. The branch offers an alternative for Greek high net worth individuals, families and institutions seeking bespoke services, along with investment solutions backed by a proven track record, the bank said. “This move confirms our commitment to the Greek market. By establishing this new branch in Athens, benefiting from our booking centre in Luxembourg, the bank is very well positioned to serve clients in this strategically important market,” Jules Moor, CEO of Banque J Safra Sarasin (Luxembourg) SA, said. The Greek market has seen some activity among banks catering to HNW individuals. In April this year, for example, Greece’s said it was expanding its Greek wealth management business by setting up dedicated Greek market coverage. “Banque J Safra Sarasin’s strength, its family ownership, and long-term strategic objective of focusing on private and institutional clients, together with its role as a pioneer in sustainable investments for more than 35 years, will undoubtedly be key to our success,” Lia Pittaouli, managing director of Banque J Safra Sarasin (Luxembourg) SA – Greek Branch, added. J Safra Sarasin Group, which has banks in more than 35 locations in Europe, Asia, the Middle East, Latin America and the Caribbean, manages total client assets of over $460 billion.
