Banque Internationale à Luxembourg (Suisse) SA and Switzerland-headquartered , which has operated for more than 40 years in Switzerland, will continue to use the Avaloq platform as its core banking system, delivered in a software-as-a-service (SaaS) model. Avaloq will manage the system and infrastructure, including regulatory updates.

The two partners will also collaborate on a joint innovation to enable BIL Suisse to integrate third-party services securely. This includes strengthening know-your-customer (KYC) processes and data connectivity, supporting more effective risk management and more seamless data integration across the bank’s ecosystem, the groups said.

“This renewal builds on a partnership that has enhanced BIL Suisse’s operations over many years. Looking ahead, we will work closely with BIL Suisse to advance the bank’s digital transformation, delivering higher levels of automation and supporting a high-quality client experience,” Christian Haux, managing director for Switzerland and Liechtenstein at Avaloq, said.

Avaloq is a subsidiary of NEC Corporation.

Among recent developments, this year BIL opened its new Geneva office (see below).

BIL Switzerland employs around 120 people from offices in Geneva (approximately 25 staff), Zurich and Lugano.

In June, Avaloq partnered a quartet of cantonal banks in the Alpine state: Basellandschaftliche Kantonalbank, Basler Kantonalbank with Bank Cler AG, St Galler Kantonalbank AG, and Thurgauer Kantonalbank. About one million clients are covered by this arrangement.

In March, Avaloq also extended services in mobile banking and relationship management to Arab Bank Switzerland.
