has appointed Riccardo Corzani (pictured) as branch manager in Lugano, effective 1 September 2026. He will lead local operations and represent Julius Baer, alongside his responsibilities as market head Italy and Ticino, the firm said in a statement.

Corzani will be succeeding Ettore Bonsignore, who is retiring after seven years in leadership roles at Julius Baer covering the Italy and Ticino market and, most recently, heading the Lugano branch. Bonsignore is concluding a career spanning more than 40 years in the wealth management sector, the firm added.

Corzani joined Julius Baer in September 2023, bringing experience in wealth management and senior leadership roles at major Swiss and international banks. Since June 2025, he has served as market head Italy and Ticino at Julius Baer, a role that also encompasses the group companies based in Milan, the Italian branch of Bank Julius Baer Europe, and Julius Baer Fiduciaria.

As Switzerland’s third-largest financial centre, Lugano plays a central role for Julius Baer and employs around 130 staff.

“Ettore Bonsignore has played a pivotal role in strengthening our position in the Italian-speaking markets in recent years. We thank him for his valuable contribution and wish him all the best in retirement,” Carlos Recoder, co-head Western Markets and Switzerland of Bank Julius Baer, said. “With Riccardo Corzani’s appointment, we are ensuring strong continuity in leadership of the Lugano branch. His broad client service expertise and strong local market knowledge position him well to lead our activities and represent Julius Baer in this key location.”
