Chartwell Capital His appointment reflects Chartwell Capital’s broader strategy of building long-term partnerships globally, as it expands its network and seeks opportunities arising from closer economic ties between Asia and the Middle East. Working closely with the investment team, Gibson-Moore will be able to provide insights, access and guidance to tap into opportunities, the firm said in a statement. Gibson-Moore has more than three decades of experience spanning global banking, investment management and corporate finance, with a long track record across the Gulf region. He has served in senior leadership roles at institutions including LGT Bank, Robeco and Chase Manhattan Bank (now JP Morgan Chase), where he led regional and global businesses throughout EMEA. During his time at Chase, he was often referred to as “David Rockefeller’s ambassador to the Kingdom” for his role in supporting the firm’s engagement in Saudi Arabia and the wider region. Based in the Middle East since the mid-2000s, Gibson-Moore has advised sovereign wealth funds, royal families and leading family offices, and is widely recognised for facilitating high-level relationships across the region. He also serves as president and CEO of Gulf Analytica, vice chairman of Apolonia Capital, president of Renaissance Fund Management and advisor to Ghana’s Ashanti Foundation, among other roles. “David’s experience and relationships in the Middle East are exceptional,” Ronald Chan, founder and CIO of Chartwell Capital, said. “Geopolitical tensions only reinforce the importance of building stronger ties between Asia and the Gulf. David’s perspective will be invaluable as we continue to build connections and work more closely with partners on the ground.” W1M Wealth Management Henry Johnstone Johnstone joins from Cazenove Capital, where he spent 10 years, most recently serving as a portfolio director in the discretionary fund management team. He has experience of managing investment portfolios for clients and advisors. He holds the CISI (Chartered Institute for Securities and Investment) Chartered Wealth Management qualification, is a Chartered Fellow of the CISI and has a degree in geography from Durham University. Johnstone will manage bespoke portfolios for a range of clients, most of whom are introduced through external financial advisors. He will support continued growth of the firm’s advisor network, build the reputation of its MPS and multi-asset solutions, and raise awareness of its bespoke portfolio management offering across the advisor community. “I’m delighted that we have been able to welcome talent of Henry’s calibre into the business,” George Bromfield, head of Adviser Solutions at W1M, said. “He adds substantial experience and expertise in our sector, which align closely with W1M’s values and the long-term ambitions we have for the Adviser Solutions team. I’m confident he will make a hugely positive impact from day one.” Carne Group Osborne brings more than three decades of experience, primarily in ETF distribution, operations and strategy, gained from some of the world’s most prominent asset managers. A senior leader with extensive background within the ETF ecosystem, his career spans sales and distribution management, ETF outsourcing and project delivery, combining commercial focus with broad operational expertise. Most recently, Osborne served as chief operating officer and managing director at State Street, where he led the ETF business across intermediary distribution and commercial operations in EMEA and APAC for over five years. Before that, he held a series of senior positions at BlackRock within iShares EMEA, including director of business management and director of sales strategic initiatives, overseeing distribution, risk and compliance frameworks, and commercial partnerships across the European ETF business. In his new role, Osborne will lead Carne’s ETF business, supporting clients and asset managers seeking to establish and grow ETF platforms. He will draw on his experience in the ETF ecosystem to help clients deal with an increasingly complex and competitive market, managing senior client relationships and leading the delivery of business-critical projects as more managers look to enter the space, Carne said. “The European ETF market is at an inflection point. Established managers are accelerating their active ETF strategies, and firms that have never before considered the wrapper are now actively exploring its potential, a trend we are seeing play out with our own clients and across the wider market,” Des Fullam, chief regulatory and client solutions officer at Carne, said. “With only 23 per cent of managers feeling confident they can support active ETF launches in-house, Carne is well placed to support that wave of new entrants needing support, and Daniel’s appointment is central to that. His combination of expertise in distribution, commercial execution and ETF operations, developed across two of the world’s largest asset managers, is exactly what our clients need as they look to build scalable, compliant and competitive ETF products. We are delighted to welcome him to Carne,” he added.
