Former Citi Private Bank CEO Becomes Saranac's Chair

, a London-based private office, has appointed former Citi Private Bank CEO Peter Charrington as chairman. He is succeeding Richard Berliand, who is stepping down as chair after four years guiding the firm through its founding and establishment phase. Berliand will continue to serve on the board as a non-executive director.

The appointment takes effect immediately. Charrington will work with Michelle Witter and Brent Seery, co-CEOs of Saranac Partners and the wider team at the firm.

Charrington joined Saranac’s board 18 months ago. He was CEO at Citi Private Bank during a 26-year career at the US bank. He is a senior partner at the Nexus Luxury Collection, based in the Bahamas, and a senior advisor to One Equity Partners, a private equity firm. He is also a member of Avaloq’s board of directors and non-executive chairman of Tottenham Hotspur Football Club, alongside other advisory positions.

Saranac, which was founded in 2016, looks after $10 billion in assets under management. It caters to ultra-high net worth families, entrepreneurs and business owners across the UK, Europe and Middle East.
