Sarasin & Partners
has appointed John Muir (pictured) as business development director for Scotland, Northern Ireland and Northern England.

Muir, who has 27 years’ experience, brings expertise in business development, sales leadership and relationship management across the region. Most recently, he served as sales director at O-IM Investment Services, where he worked with professional advisors, wealth managers and business owners to increase sales. He has also held senior positions at firms including Baron & Grant Investment Management, Aubrey Capital Management and Rathbones.

Muir will be responsible for strengthening the relationships that Sarasin already has in the area and developing more new opportunities with professional intermediaries.

Muir’s appointment builds on a period of growth for Sarasin & Partners, the firm said in a statement. Across the UK, Sarasin has also strengthened its regional presence, most recently with the hire of Aimee Searle as regional business development manager covering Wales and the South-West.

“John is exceptionally well placed to strengthen our presence across these regions, bringing a wealth of experience in business development and a proven ability to work closely with professional advisors,” Christopher Cade, head of UK sales, said. “His expertise aligns perfectly with our focus on delivering long-term value for clients, and we look forward to seeing the impact he will have as we continue to grow in the region.”

Sarasin & Partners is a London-based asset management group that manages £17.4 billion ($23.4 billion) of AuM (as of 30 September 2025) on behalf of charities, private clients, intermediaries, institutions, and pension funds from the UK and around the world.

Harneys
Private Bank has made two imminent hires who will add to the firm’s ability to advise ultra-high net worth (UHNW) clients in Denmark and Norway.

Steen Krage, who will join at the start of February, will be responsible for the build out of the wealth management business in Denmark, the firm said in a statement. He will be based in Zurich and report to James Whittaker, head of Private Bank UK and Nordics. A Danish citizen who has lived in Switzerland for more than 20 years, Krage brings more than 25 years of wealth management experience, including 10 years as the market head for the Nordics at HSBC. He joins Deutsche Bank from UBS where he worked in the Global Family and Institutional Wealth (GFIW) team advising some of the largest Nordic families.

Meanwhile, Morten Frimann Grøtvedt will join the Nordics team as a relationship manager, covering the Norwegian market and based in its Luxembourg office. He will report to Dan Ingvarson, who is based in Stockholm. Morten brings experience from UBS, where he was a director within the GFIW team, covering single- and multi-family offices. Prior to that, he worked at Nordea Asset Management as a product and RFP specialist and gained additional fund accounting experience from Citco and Northern Trust.
