has opened a new Wealth Centre in Leeds. This follows the July launch of the first HSBC UK Wealth Centre in St James’s, London.

The new centre, which is located in the heart of Leeds, will serve as a base for relationship teams to offer personalised wealth management services for private banking and premier clients in Yorkshire and the North-East. The expansion complements HSBC’s other regional spaces in Birmingham and Manchester which serve clients in the Midlands and North-West respectively, the firm said in a statement.

The investment in the Leeds Wealth Centre follows years of record growth for its regional business, which covers the Midlands and the North of England and serves over 350 clients holding between $5 and $50 million of assets.

Over the past five years, the UK private bank’s regional business – an important part of its strategy – has grown revenues by over 300 per cent. The centre is the latest in a range of investments HSBC UK has made to its offering in the wealth and private banking space.

The new Wealth Centre has opened at the same time as the regional team is expanding with three new hires, the firm continued. Gareth Morgans is joining from UBS as an investment advisor, Marcus Himsworth, also ex-UBS, is joining as a relationship manager, and Stephen Wright is joining from the Corporate Banking business as a business development manager.

“Yorkshire is a thriving hub for entrepreneurs, high net worth individuals and families looking for bespoke financial solutions,” Rebecca Boardman, UK HNW North & Midlands regional Head, said. “Opening a new office in Leeds allows us to be even more accessible and geographically closer to our clients. Sustained success over the years has confirmed the continued need for personalised wealth management, investment advice and estate planning solutions.”
