Björn Jesch Named AllianzGI Chief Product Officer

Asset manager (AllianzGI) has appointed Björn Jesch (pictured) as chief product officer in the product solutions and marketing division, effective 1 September. In this new role, Jesch will lead product solutions and marketing at AllianzGI with executive responsibility for ensuring that the firm’s product offering and market positioning meet.the highest standards. Based in Frankfurt, Jesch will become a member of AllianzGI’s executive committee, reporting to Tobias Pross, CEO of Allianz Global Investors, the firm said in a statement. Jesch, who has more than three decades of experience in the sector, has served in senior roles in portfolio management, product management and solutions during his career to-date. Previously, he worked for the German asset manager DWS where he was most recently global chief investment officer and CEO of DWS Switzerland. Prior to that, he was global head of multi asset and solutions and chief investment officer EMEA at DWS Group. Before DWS, Jesch was global head of investment solutions and products investment management at Credit Suisse (2018 to 2020) and chief investment officer and head of portfolio management at Union Investment (2012 to 2018). Earlier in his career, he spent time with Deutsche Bank, first as deputy and then as head of global investment solutions Germany, as well as being chief investment officer and head of portfolio management, the firm said. “Appointing someone of Björn’s calibre speaks to the importance we place on the newly-created product solutions and marketing function and underscores that AllianzGI is a natural home for some of the investment industry’s top talent,” Pross said. “Drawing on his extensive investment experience, deep understanding of evolving client needs and track record of innovation, we look forward to welcoming Björn to AllianzGI as a member of the leadership team and fully expect he will play a critical role in future strategic growth of our business.”
