Mark Carter has joined the Leeds office as a director in financial planning and Ross Bone has joined the Newcastle office as associate financial planner. Carter (main picture) has more than 30 years’ experience in financial services, with the last 10 as a senior wealth manager, and joins from aberdeen where he worked for five years, most recently as Financial Planning Director. Bone (pictured below, left), who has 10 years’ experience in financial services, joins from Equilibrium Financial Planning where he worked for five years. The firm has also hired Gail Carr to join the investment management team in Newcastle. Carr (pictured below, right) is joining as a director from Rathbones where she worked for four years as an investment manager. She has 20 years’ experience in the industry having previously worked at Brewin Dolphin within both the portfolio and investment management areas of the business. “Gail is a key appointment in our drive to build local investment advice capabilities for clients in the North,” managing partner David Rankin said. “Our expansion means we can offer not just top-class portfolio and investment management at a personal level to clients in the region – but also that our investment managers and financial planners can work together in the same regional offices to provide an industry-leading suite of in-house wealth management services.” Left to right: Neil Bone and Gail Carr Previously, he served as a senior investment consultant at XPS Group, providing investment advice for around 20 advisory and fiduciary management oversight clients, ranging from £3 million ($3.86 million) to £500 million in size. He also helped develop the company’s fiduciary management oversight and local government pension scheme (LGPS) propositions, and was part of the management group for the London investment team. Haywood holds a BSc in geography and statistics from the University of Newcastle. "His extensive experience and deep understanding of the industry will be instrumental in driving our growth and enhancing our Fiduciary Management services,” Dan James, head of asset management at Charles Stanley, said. Rathbones Zhukov (pictured below), who joined the firm as part of its acquisition of Healy in 2023, has experience in international tax reporting, compliance and project management. He will help drive its global solutions offering and oversee Hawksford’s team across Europe, the Middle East and Africa (EMEA), Asia and the Americas, to provide services to corporate clients in more than 100 jurisdictions globally. Nick Zhukov He will be supported in the Dubai office by Kunal Fabiani, director of global solutions, who will deliver commercial opportunities for the business. Simon Guidecoq, based in the Netherlands, and Lisa McHugh Dolan, based in Singapore, will also support the team with operational matters. Hawksford’s Global Solutions team specialises in supporting corporate clients with services covering the end-to-end life cycle of clients investing and expanding globally, including company registration, accounting, bank account opening, and tax and regulatory compliance in almost all major jurisdictions globally. Charles Stanley
has appointed Chris Haywood as a senior portfolio manager within Charles Stanley Fiduciary Management services, with immediate effect. Haywood, who has more than 12 years of experience in the defined benefit pension scheme industry, will be responsible for managing and developing client portfolios within the Fiduciary Management team. He will work with clients to understand their needs and provide tailored investment solutions. He will also collaborate with the Charles Stanley Asset Management team, in addition to the broader research capabilities across the group, to enhance the firm's fiduciary management offerings. Haywood will report directly to Dan James, head of asset management.
