, the UK part of Europe's Quintet Private Bank, has appointed Lindy Kroese (pictured) as a wealth planner in its Leeds team. Kroese has more than a decade of financial planning experience in the UK and South Africa. She replaces Paul Andrew.

Kroese joins from Balance Wealth Planning. She supported estate and succession planning as well as pension and retirement planning. Kroese started her financial planning career at Old Mutual in South Africa, before joining Quilter Private Client Advisors.

Kroese will report to Brown Shipley’s head of private bank north, Gordon Scott. She will be Leeds-based and will work with colleagues across Brown Shipley and Quintet (Brown Shipley’s parent) to strengthen client relationships, the firm said in a statement. The appointment follows the recent Brown Shipley hire of Robbie Hewitt in Scotland; Matthew Noyce in the South of England; and Amir Bayram and Lisa Morrison in Leeds earlier this year.

Brown Shipley has offices in London, Manchester, Birmingham, Cambridge, Leeds, Edinburgh, Norwich and Nottingham, another example of the type of regional strategies that wealth managers are adopting. UBS has offices in Birmingham, Manchester, Leeds, Newcastle and Edinburgh whilst Sorbus is run from Manchester. UK wealth manager LGT Wealth Management, part of the LGT Group, recently opened a Manchester office and Canaccord Wealth has just bolstered its Midlands presence. See more commentary here and here.

“Lindy’s appointment underscores our continued commitment to Leeds and the Yorkshire region.  Her experience, client focus and personal approach to understanding clients and their financial objectives aligns closely with our approach to best meet our clients’ wealth management needs,” Scott said.

“I’m excited to join the Leeds team at Brown Shipley, which will further enhance my experience of working with high-net-worth clients,” Kroese added.
