Calastone Names New Chief Technology Officer

, a global funds network, has appointed Nick Parsons as chief technology officer.

Parsons will be responsible for Calastone’s technology operations as well as product strategy and development, covering all regions including Asia-Pacific, which is a key growth region for Calastone, the firm said in a statement.

Previously, Parsons was CEO of software company Bravura Solutions which has a strong presence in Asia. He has more than 30 years’ experience in the IT and asset management industry, and is a technology leader recognised for specialising in financial sector solutions for fund managers, wealth managers and administrator. Prior to joining Bravura Solutions, Parsons was the CTO for DST Global Solutions (now part of SS&C), where he was responsible for driving technical innovation across a diverse product range.

“Nick’s exceptional industry experience, deep technological expertise, and proven track record of strategic leadership will play an important role in strengthening Calastone’s senior leadership team,” Julien Hammerson, chief executive officer at Calastone, said. “As our network continues to grow, Nick will be instrumental in leading our future technology strategy as we expand the business into new verticals and continue to support our clients through the next phase of automation.”

With digital innovation being a priority for Calastone, it has also appointed Adam Belding as chief architect, He will be responsibile for leading Calastone’s Digital Investments programme, collaborating with clients to enable new digital "tokenized" investment models – the next generation of collective investment.

“Adam will play a critical role as chief architect in leading the funds industry into a new era, which will see tokenized investment vehicles become the standard,” Hammerson said.

Calastone, which has more than 4,000 clients in 55 countries and territories, processes £250 billion of investment value each month. Based in London, it has offices in Luxembourg, Hong Kong, Taipei, Singapore, New York, Milan and Sydney.
