In its third senior hire this month, , a UK-based independent, advisor platform group, has appointed Laura Barnes in the newly-created role of director of business development, effective 2 May.

She will report to Paul Bagley, Nucleus’ distribution director, the firm said in a statement.

Barnes (pictured) is an experienced industry platform professional, with over 25 years’ experience in financial services. She is joining from Parmenion, where she was head of intermediary distribution for almost three years with responsibility for sales strategy and growth. Prior to that she served in senior sales management roles at Aegon, Cofunds and Axa Group.

Pictet Alternative Advisors 
has strengthened its real estate offering in the Nordic region with the appointment of Linus Nilsson as its new head of Nordics, based in Stockholm. 

He will focus on direct real estate transactions across the region and report to Charlie Baigler, head of acquisitions, direct real estate, the firm said in a statement.

Linus has more than 13 years of experience in the real estate industry and has held various positions in Stockholm and London. He is joining from SBF Fonder AB, where he was the chief investment officer, the firm continued. At SBF, he oversaw a team with overall responsibility for investment strategy, transactions and fundraising. Prior to SBF, he was a director at both NIAM in Stockholm and at Nuveen in London, the firm said.

Welcoming him to the firm, Zsolt Kohalmi, head of direct real estate, said: “His experience working with operators and investors in the Nordics will allow us to continue our expansion in the region and strengthen Pictet’s position.”
