ABN AMRO's Chief Financial Officer To Depart

today said that its chief financial officer, Lars Kramer, who took up the post in June 2021, is departing to pursue other opportunities outside the Netherlands-based bank.

Kramer will be leaving on 30 April, it said in a statement.

The lender said it has started to find a successor.

Before joining ABN AMRO, Kramer was group CFO for Hellenic Bank between 2017 and 2021. Before that, he was CFO for ING Commercial Bank for five years, according to his LinkedIn profile.

“I see his leaving as a regretted loss for the bank, though at the same time I respect his choice to pursue this option outside our bank. Until his departure Lars will be fully committed to ABN AMRO to ensure a smooth transition,” Robert Swaak, CEO of ABN AMRO, said.

In November last year Carsten Bittner was appointed as chief innovation and technology officer for a four-year stint. He took over from Christian Bornfield, who left the bank in May 2022.

In November, the group reported a third-quarter 2022 net profit of €743 million ($746 million), reflecting a strong recovery in deposit margins supported by a book profit on disposals and low impairments.
