Specialist private client consultancy has promoted Alison Craggs (pictured), a Legal 500 2023 “Rising Star,” to partner.

Craggs has more than 15 years’ experience in private client law, specialising in drafting tax-efficient wills, preparing and registering powers of attorney, and administering estates. She joined The Burnside Partnership two years ago, having previously practised at law firms in both London and Oxford. Craggs' articles have been published in several journals including the Trusts and Estates Law & Tax Journal and Family Law Journal.

Beyond her core private client specialism, Craggs is also experienced in working with clients affected by dementia and disabilities. She is a member of Solicitors for the Elderly; the Alzheimer’s Society’s Dementia Friends initiative; she appears on the Alzheimer’s Research UK list of solicitors; and has presented at Mencap’s conferences on trusts for disabled people. Craggs is also a full member of the Society of Trust and Estate Practitioners (STEP) as a recognised specialist in inheritance and successions planning.

, the offshore law firm, has promoted Diana Rodriguez to senior associate in its private wealth team in Guernsey.

In her new position Rodriguez will continue to advise trustees, beneficiaries and settlors on a wide range of contentious and non-contentious trust, foundation and private client matters. She also has a particular interest in advising on pensions, having participated in the technical sub-committee of the Guernsey Association of Pension Providers, and advising charities.

Prior to qualifying as a lawyer, Rodriguez worked for various international human rights organisations in Latin America and Europe. She holds degrees in politics and development from Cambridge University and the London School of Economics. She is qualified as a solicitor (England and Wales) and has recently passed the Guernsey Bar exams and obtained the Certificat d’Etudes Juridiques Françaises et Normandie from the Université de Caen.
