Atlas Responsible Investors
, a French investment management firm, has launched a new UCITS version for its long/short impact equity strategy.

Atlas said it has been running this strategy for three years for family offices. Under the UCITS format, the fund will give a wider access to a fusion of authentic responsible investing and traditional equity long/short virtues, the firm said in a statement.

Both sustainability and absolute returns are at the very core of one of the first SFDR9 absolute returns strategies, it added.

Welcoming the launch, Quentin Dumortier, founder and chief investment officer at Atlas said: “We only invest in companies which align with Atlas Eleven Sustainable Investment Goals. Launching a UCITS fund is a natural continuation to offer our unique investment strategy, which has proven its all-weather resilience over the past three years.”

Atlas’ investment process begins with screening companies that pioneer sustainability, and whose activity or business practices contribute to the UN Sustainable Development Goals, the firm said. This initial investment universe is also reviewed by independent panels of sustainability experts. Atlas then leverages its investment team’s experience to apply a framework anchored in classic bottom-up analysis to build a high conviction portfolio, the firm added.

Marie de Muizon, chief impact officer, said: “We believe that companies incorporating core sustainability trends at the heart of their business models will unlock untapped growth opportunities, while contributing positively to transforming the current system towards a fairer and more sustainable capitalism.”

Based in Paris, Atlas Responsible Investors, which was founded in 2019 by Quentin Dumortier, is a sustainability-native B Corp certified firm with extensive experience in impact investing.
