yesterday announced that Vincent Magnenat, limited partner and chief executive for the Asia business, is taking on an expanded role as global head of strategic alliances for the bank’s private client franchise, taking effect on 1 September.
Based in Singapore, Magnenat will remain as Asia regional head and continue to manage the bank’s ecosystem of strategic alliances in the Asia region, it said in a statement.
Magnenat will report to Frédéric Rochat, co-head of the private bank and managing partner of Lombard Odier.
Private banking and wealth management veteran Francis Liu will join Lombard Odier as chief executive officer for the private clients business in Asia. He will also be Singapore CEO, the bank said. Based in Singapore, Liu will report to Magnenat.
Magnenat has been at Lombard Odier since 2012, joining as Singapore’s CEO and head of private clients, Asia, before taking on a regional portfolio as Asia CEO in 2018. He was invited to be a limited partner of Lombard Odier Group in February 2018.
Liu will be joining Lombard Odier from UBS Wealth Management in Hong Kong, where he assumed various leadership roles within UBS’ Asia-Pacific wealth management franchise over the last 12 years. He most recently served as regional head of the bank’s APAC ultra-high net worth business. Prior to UBS, Liu worked as an MD at Merrill Lynch Private Wealth Management covering Taipei, Singapore and Hong Kong, where he was head of the Greater China region.
