CRUX Asset Management
has appointed investment analyst Tom Messenger to strengthen its specialist UK equities investment team.

Messenger will support AAA Citywire-rated fund manager, Richard Penny, on the TM CRUX UK Special Situations Fund and the TM CRUX UK Core Fund, the firm said in a statement.

Previously, Messenger had been an investment analyst at Momentum Investment Solutions & Consulting since July 2018 and an equity research analyst at Third Bridge Group Limited prior to that, the firm added.

“His appointment will deepen our research into UK companies experiencing strong growth but trading at attractive valuations. In addition, it enables us to further expand our research universe and continue to identify those British companies where the prospects of management change and a recovery in earnings are undervalued by the market,” Karen Zachary, CEO at CRUX, said.

The £236.2 million ($289.47 million) TM CRUX UK Special Situations Fund has generated a 35.6 per cent return for investors over its first three and a half years as at 30 April 2022, underscoring the attractions of long-term capital growth through bottom-up investing in mispriced British stocks, the firm said. Established in 2014, London-based Crux is an active equity investment manager with £1.7 billion ($2.08 billion) assets under management, specialising in UK, European and Asian investments.
