Who's Moving Where In Wealth Management? - Jersey Finance, Brewin Dolphin, The Global Returns Project

Strengthening commitments to Africa, has recruited wealth management specialist Rufaro Mucheka.

Mucheka spent 14 years in various strategic roles at Nedbank Wealth Management in South Africa, most recently as head of partnerships and strategic projects.

Based in Johannesburg, her primary focus will be the South African market. She is a member of the Golden Key International Honour Society, an advisory member of the Women in Tech (SA) movement, an international campaign advisor for the Cherie Blair Foundation for Women, and a certified financial planner.

She will work closely with Jersey Finance’s global head of business development, Allan Wood.

The group promotes the island's activities as an international financial centre.

“Jersey’s finance industry has been building commercial ties in Africa for more than two decades, which has enabled us to develop a formidable appreciation of the African economic landscape,” Wood said. “Rufaro’s special understanding and expertise will play an influential role in advising on how we build on that relationship as it continues to evolve.”

Wealth manager has added three experts to it advisory and trustees roster. The group has appointed TT International  veteran Mike Jennings as a trustee; global head of funds/ETFs and manager selection at HSBC Wealth and Personal Banking. Sai K Tampi has joined the advisory board; and climate science professor at University College London, Chris Rapley CBE has joined the technical advisory board.

Jennings and Tampi are expected to significantly enhance the group's communications with financial advisors.

Rapley advises the government's Clean Growth Fund and is a member of the UK Parliamentary and Scientific Committee. His is also former chair of the London Climate Change Partnership and executive director of the International Geosphere-Biosphere programme. As a technical advisor, he will work with former co-director of the Grantham Institute, Joanna Haigh CBE, and Global Returns Project executives to select the most effective not-for-profit climate solutions for the portfolio.

“Chris’s vast experience leading some of today’s most well-respected climate initiatives make him an ideal choice to help us develop our portfolio," co-founder Yan Swiderski said.
