Ignis Asset Management has appointed a five-strong European distribution team and support staff to expand its distribution capabilities into Continental Europe. The team will join Ignis at the beginning of September this year and will focus on the distribution of Ignis’ products in France, Germany, Austria, Switzerland, Iberia, Italy and the Benelux countries. Philip Goldsmith will lead the team as managing director Europe, a newly-created position at Ignis. He will be based in the Swiss canton of Valais and will be responsible for distribution in France and other francophone areas. André Haubensack will become the firm’s regional director Germanic countries and will be based in Zurich. Just like the other appointments, Mr Haubensack and Mr Goldsmith had previously been colleagues at New Star. Mauro Loran, based in Madrid, will assume the position of regional director Iberia and Latin America. Arcangelo Barletta will assume the position of regional director of Italy and Ticino and will be based in Milan. Ghislaine Fournigault will be based at Ignis’s London offices and will assume the position of regional director, Benelux. The team will report to Jonathan Polin, sales and marketing director at Ignis. Additionally, the firm recruited “up to five personnel to support the European team”, it said in its statement. “Ignis is wholly committed to growing its presence in Continental Europe and this significant investment highlights our ambition to become one of Europe’s leading asset management companies,” said Mr Polin.
