Brown Shipley has added to its Edinburgh presence with the acquisition of the investment management operation of Scottish law firm Lindsays. The private bank is London-based and ultimately Belgian-owned through a Luxembourg holding company.

Senior members of Lindsays' investment team Paul Embleton and Gail Craig will be joining Brown Shipley on completion of the deal. They will be working alongside private client director Graham Auld, who heads the Brown Shipley office in Edinburgh.

Brown Shipley established its Edinburgh office nearly a year ago; the acquisition continues the growth plans for the Edinburgh office and Scottish region announced in September 2008.

It is expected that the effective date of transfer will be 1 September 2009.
