EXCLUSIVE: Swiss Bank Makes UK Hiring Spree

Credit Suisse's private bank in the UK has recruited a total of 10 new individuals, two of whom hold the title of managing director, this publication can exclusively report today.          

The MDs are Jesus Madalena, who was previously at UBS, and Michael Darriba, formerly with Deutsche Bank.

Besides Madalena and Darriba, there are also three directors and five vice presidents joining . Six of them are relationship managers, several of whom are from Barclays.

“There is real momentum in our UK business, and these new hires are a testament to that. We can offer clients a powerful combination of expert advice, a strong balance sheet and, in collaboration with our markets businesses, sales, trading, financing and structured solutions where needed," Christian Berchem, chief executive of Credit Suisse UK, said.

"We want private bankers to come and build their careers here and we think that, as one of the leading global wealth managers, that’s an attractive proposition," he added.
