Berenberg's Wealth, Asset Management Group Names German Equities Boss

Hamburg-based , the funds subsidiary of Deutsche Bank, where he is currently head of equities for German-speaking countries. Before that he was head of German equities and global sector head for industrials, among other positions.

As lead fund manager for DWS Investa, DWS Deutschland and DWS Aktien Strategie Deutschland, Albrecht oversees several DWS flagship funds, taking in a total AuM of €14 billion.

“Tim Albrecht has won many awards as a fund manager, and I value him greatly as a colleague. His appointment is a clear reflection of our intention to become one of the best equity investment houses in Germany and Europe,” Henning Gebhardt, head of wealth and asset management at Berenberg, said.

In his new role, Albrecht will report to Matthias Born, chief investment officer for equities. This publication has contacted Berenberg to clarify if this role is a newly-created one, or a replacement.

Discretionary funds and strategies are managed in Frankfurt, while quantitative strategies and overlay management are run from Hamburg.
