A raft Nordic banks are set to form a new group that aims to fight cyber crime and data breaches, and other Nordic banks. The banks will share relevant data to combat cyber crime, which has become more innovative and organised in recent years, Nordea Bank says.

The Nordic Financial CERT aims to protect customer assets and provide a digital safety net for all financial institutions. The collaboration will work to create proactive measures across the industry and within the community in general.

The collaboration began four years ago in Norway under the name FinansCERT. It is now expanding to Nordic Financial CERT to cover the entire Nordic region. The Nordic Financial CERT will invite the entire financial industry within the region to join.

“Our customers are the reason why we exist, and we consider it our social responsibility to strengthen the collaboration with other Nordic financial institutions to become more effective in the creation of a safe and protected environment,” said Torsten Hagen Jørgensen, chief operating officer at Nordea.
