Lombard Odier Makes Raft Of Senior Hires In UK

has created six new roles in London as part of an investment programme to build its presence in the UK.

Led by Duncan MacIntyre, who became chief executive of the bank’s UK private client business in January, the expanded team includes a new chief operating officer, three private bankers, a wealth planner and a legal counsel. 

Karl Von Bezing joins as COO. He previously spent five years in the wealth and asset management practice of Ernst & Young. 

Karen Boecker has been appointed a senior private banker for the Middle East. With nearly 20 years’ experience of working with Middle Eastern clients, she was previously head of the Middle East, Africa and Eastern Mediterranean desk, and supervisor of the international team at Deutsche Bank Wealth Management.

Duygu Gözeler Porchet also joins from Deutsche Bank where she was vice president, asset and wealth management for the Middle East and Africa. She will serve as a private banker for the Turkish market, bringing particular experience of advising Turkish high net worth clients. 

Aurélie Jaclot joins as a private banker for the French market. She was previously a senior private Banker at Pictet & Cie for eight years, based in Paris.

Géraldine Appert, previously head of international wealth planning at SG Hambros, joins as a wealth planner with 20 years’ experience, including 10 years as an advisor to international ultra-high net worth individuals on cross border wealth planning. 

Lastly, Louise Dobbyn has been appointed legal counsel. She was previously an associate at Ashurst.

“We have set ambitious targets to grow Lombard Odier and part of that growth comes from further developing our London office for a wider range of private clients,” said MacIntyre. 

“We need a strong team to help me on that journey and we will be making more senior private banking and investment management hires in the months ahead.”

The news comes swiftly after fellow Geneva-headquartered private bank Pictet announced that its London banking branch will now offer booking centre services.
