The acquisition extends Equiom's reach to Singapore and the British Virgin Islands while expanding its team in Hong Kong.

As part of the deal, 60 staff, including Heritage’s senior management team, will join Equiom. The Hong Kong team will move into Equiom's existing offices and Heritage will rebrand to Equiom in January 2017.

“Equiom's growth strategy continues to concentrate on achieving scale and substance throughout every jurisdiction we operate in,” said the firm's global chief executive, Sheila Dean. “For Equiom clients this provides further access to international services and expertise.”

Equiom has offices in the Isle of Man, Guernsey, Jersey, Malta and Hong Kong. In addition to the Heritage deal, it recently said it is expanding into the United Arab Emirates and Qatar with the acquisition of Links Group.
