London-listed has made three senior appointments to its recently launched private office, including that of Credit Suisse’s managing director and head of the UK domestic private bank, Ian Dembinski.

The appointments come after the company teamed up with Credit Suisse in May to enhance the specialist private banking proposition of the new unit, which is aimed at the higher end of its clientèle.

Dembinski has worked at Credit Suisse’s private banking division since 2010, having previously spent 24 years at UBS. In his new role as head of Rathbones Private Office, he will report directly to Philip Howell, chief executive of Rathbones.

Meanwhile, Peter Arkel and Alex Dean have been appointed as client directors within Rathbones’ private office. Arkell has 29 years’ industry experience, having most recently served as a director at Deutsche Bank. He has also worked at Barclays Wealth, Credit Suisse and Kleinwort Benson. Dean joined Rathbones in May and has 18 years of experience, most recently from RBC Wealth Management, where he spent the last four years as director.

Based in London, all three will work closely with Natalie Merrens, who joined the company last October from Kleinwort Benson as head of investment solutions for the private office.

“These new appointments, along with the relationship that we have formed with Credit Suisse, will ensure our Private Office clients have access to the full range of services they require from the outset,” said Howell.
