Investec Wealth & Investment has signed a three-year sponsorship agreement with Chatsworth, the renowned UK stately home, adding to other sponsorship programmes by the firm.
The agreement will see the wealth manager support and participate in a number of initiatives at Chatsworth including its annual charity clay pigeon shoot. The firm will also host a series of exclusive client events, including a summer garden party and a Christmas-themed event, it said.
The firm already sponsors the Bournemouth Symphony Orchestra, the Royal Liverpool Philharmonic Orchestra, Opera Holland Park and the National Gardens Scheme. Wealth managers of different sizes have used sponsorships of artistic, sporting and philanthropic events and programmes to promote their brands. At one end of the scale, UBS, the world’s largest wealth manager, is sponsor to Formula One, the motor racing tournament. At a slightly less noisy level, UK wealth management house Quilter Cheviot, which is part of the UK's Old Mutual Wealth, is the headline sponsor for the BBC's new Countryfile Live show.
Chatsworth, which is in Derbyshire, is home to the Duke and Duchess of Devonshire. It has been home to the Cavendish family since 1549 and is known for the quality of its architecture, art, garden and landscape.
