Asset Management has hired former Coutts & Co director Shirley Coe to lead its business development team. Coe brings 20 years' experience of working with high net worth clients in the UK and internationally, having served as director and private banker at Coutts & Co. Based in London, Coe will report to the firm's head of private client, Penny Lovell, helping to deliver the growth strategy for the business. Close Brothers Asset Management has also appointed Jonathan Moon to its business development team. He joins after five years with Tilney Investment Management where he worked on private clients and professional intermediaries. Meanwhile, Andrew Benns joins from Flemming Family & Partners as product marketing manager. All three roles are newly-created. “We have identified a group of individuals who will help us in the next stage of our growth strategy. Shirley and Jonathan both bring extensive private client and professional intermediaries experience and their addition to our team demonstrates our commitment to clients across the UK,” said Lovell. In its latest trading update for the last five months of 2015, Close Brothers saw total client assets fall 15 per cent to £9.4 billion ($13.6 billion). The group reported “solid” net inflows for its asset management division but gave no figures on this.
