has brought together all the Geneva-based teams of its private banking arm and its corporate and investment banking business under a new roof in the city. The group signed a renewable 10-year lease for the new premises on rue du Rhône 8, Geneva. The office, which will include a dedicated floor for the bank’s clients, will accommodate almost 400 people who were previously spread over five different sites. Societe Generale said the move will enable further synergies between the two businesses. “By establishing itself at this single address, Societe Generale is demonstrating its strong commitment to Switzerland, one of Europe’s leading financial centres,” said Yves Thieffry, the group’s country head and chief executive of SGPB (Suisse). “The group is continuing its development strategy for the country, focusing its strengths around its two commercial hubs in Geneva and Zurich, and, for the private bank, its back-office in Lausanne.”
