London-based asset manager Cazenove Capital Management has appointed Alex Baily as a fund director in its charities team.

In his new role Mr Baily will manage Cazenove Capital’s existing charity portfolios as well as contributing to new business development.

“The recent volatility of markets has created a challenging investment environment for our clients.  However, the charities team here at Cazenove Capital continues to focus on investment risks and the delivery of a consistent level of performance combined with a high level of client service,” said Jeff Hayes, head of charities at Cazenove Capital.

Mr Baily joins Cazenove Capital from Barclays Wealth, where he was an associate director managing charity investments and private client portfolios.  Earlier in his career Mr Baily worked for James Capel (which became HSBC Investment Management) as an investment manager and member of the charity team.

Cazenove Capital Management ended last year with assets under management of £10.9 billion (around $15.1 billion).
