The has banned Stuart Jamieson, a former Commonwealth Financial Planning Ltd advisor, from providing financial services for five years.

The ban, which is part of the watchdog's Wealth Management Project, comes hot on the heels of the regulator's eight-year ban of Sharnie Kent, also formerly of CFPL, part of the Commonwealth Bank of Australia.

The regulator found that despite warnings from CFPL, Jamieson failed to provide a statement of advice on time on more than 500 occasions. He also engaged in misleading and deceptive conduct in April 2014 by not disclosing his previous employment with CFPL and their investigation into him when applying to Securitor Financial Group.

Jamieson was a representative of CFPL from 2003 to 2012 and resigned from the company while it investigated his conduct.
