Tilney Bestinvest Makes Splash Of Financial Planning Hires

has added four new faces to its UK-wide team of financial planners. The hires are David Durrant in East Anglia, Sally Bartrum in Bristol and Avon, Louise Higham in Manchester, and Mike Williams in Birmingham. Durrant joins from Wetherbys Private Banking where he spent five years as a financial planner. He will report to the group's managing director of financial planning, Richard Dawes. Bartram joins from Hargreaves Lansdown and has previously worked at Towry and Holden Meehan. She will report to financial planning director Richard Stones. Higham joins after four years at LJ Financial Planning and will report to financial planning director Ann-Marie Atkins. Lastly, Williams joins after a decade with HSBC, most recently as premier relationship manager, providing financial advice to around 600 high net worth clients. He will report to financial planning director Neil Watson. “The growth of our financial planning presence through the hire of high quality professionals as well as bolt-on acquisitions such as our recent deal with Webb Holton in Birmingham is a key strategic priority for Tilney Bestinvest. We have seen strong demand for expert financial planning as a result of the recent upheavals to the pension system and as we look ahead to the impending launch of our joint venture with Saga,” said Dawes. Tilney Bestinvest looks after more than £9 billion ($14 billion) of client assets. In June, the group appointed Stuart Layzell as its first ever chief financial officer.
