BMO Global Asset Management Names New Head Of Product Management

has appointed David Sloper as head of product management for its asset management business in Europe, Middle East and Africa.

Replacing Martin Smith, Sloper joins the London team to oversee the firm’s product range across EMEA. He will also join BMO Global Asset Management’s EMEA management committee.

Sloper, who joined the Bank of Montreal in 1998, was most recently responsible for leading the integration of F&C Investments and BMO Global Asset Management. He has also managed BMO’s trading and investment portfolios. 

Smith, who has been with BMO for 14 years, will remain a member of BMO Global Asset Management’s responsible investment advisory council.

“Our business is in an exciting growth phase, demonstrated by our recent distribution team hires that now draw on the full range of investment capabilities from BMO’s global stable,” said the chief executive of BMO Global Asset Management, EMEA, Richard Wilson.

“David will play a critical role in ensuring that our product suite equips our clients to meet the investment challenges they face.” 

As of the end of April, BMO Global Asset Management, which acquired F&C last year, had more than $254 billion in assets under management.
