Davy Private Clients UK Expands Irish Footprint With Acquisition

Graham Corry Cheevers, which provides investment management, stockbroking and financial advisory services in Northern Ireland, has around 2,500 clients with £230 million ($360 million) in assets under management.

The acquisition, which is expected to complete in a month's time, will see the firm’s partners move over to Davy’s private client business in Belfast. The buy is Davy’s sixth in less than four years. Last year, it acquired Belfast-based advisory firm Square Seven Financial Planning.

“Over recent years we have we have invested over £30 million in people, systems and infrastructure to meet the evolving needs of clients. This investment has driven strong growth that has seen Davy adding 150 staff to our offices in Ireland and the UK,” said the chief executive of Davy Group, Brian McKiernan.

“We see Northern Ireland as an area of key growth for the firm and plan to further consolidate this position in the near term as we continue to assess further strategic acquisitions like Graham Corry Cheevers,” added Stephen Felle, chief executive of Davy Private Clients UK.
