Switzerland's Mirabaud has named Barclays Wealth and Investment Management's William Proger and Harry Thorburn as co-heads of its London-based private wealth management unit.

Proger and Thorburn's appointments come as part of Mirabaud's drive to boost its private wealth management business in the UK.

“To attract such high calibre individuals in wealth management is testament to the strength and heritage of Mirabaud in the sector, and this marks a new phase in Mirabaud's activity in the UK market,” said Mirabaud's managing partner, Giles Morland.

The move follows last month's departure of Barclays' Michael Blaustein and Maureen Clancy. The pair, who formed Barclays' US-based Blaustein Clancy Financial Group, which managed over $650 million in assets, joined Wells Fargo Advisors.
